Standard Tab Overhang Width

Divider tabs extend exactly 0.50 inches (12.7 mm) beyond the standard 8.5-inch width of US Letter paper (9.0 inches overall). When placed inside standard 3-ring binders, the tabs project past the document sheets for immediate visual access without protruding beyond the protective binder cover edges.
