Nearly a Single-Country Standard
Type H is one of the most narrowly used plug types in the entire IEC lettering system -- restricted to Israel and the adjacent Palestinian territories, unlike every other type covered in this category, all of which span multiple countries. It exists in two documented physical revisions: an older design with three flat, Y-arranged pins, and a 1989 revision that changed to three round 4.5mm pins in the same physical positions.
The 1989 redesign was deliberately made backward-compatible: newer round-pin sockets accept both older flat-pin Israeli plugs and the ungrounded Type C Europlug, giving Type H unusually broad practical compatibility for such a geographically limited standard.
