Indoor vs. Beach Engineering Differences
- Pressure Differential: Indoor volleyballs are pressurized to 4.26–4.61 psi for rapid ball exit velocity and sharp spiking rebounds off hardwood. Beach volleyballs operate at approximately half that pressure (2.49–3.20 psi) to absorb outdoor wind gusts and soften arm contact under sun-heated sand conditions.
