North American (ANSI & Arch)

ANSI C is an engineering paper standard defined by ANSI/ASME Y14.1, measuring 17.0 × 22.0 inches (431.8 × 558.8 mm). Formed by joining two ANSI B (Tabloid) sheets or four ANSI A (Letter) sheets, it is the entry format for mechanical CAD assembly drawings and electrical wiring schematics.

ANSI D is an engineering drawing paper standard defined by ANSI/ASME Y14.1, measuring 22.0 × 34.0 inches (558.8 × 863.6 mm). Formed by doubling ANSI C, it is the classic North American engineering blueprint format for civil engineering site plans, automotive chassis designs, and aerospace sub-assemblies.

ANSI E is the largest standardized engineering sheet size defined by ANSI/ASME Y14.1, measuring 34.0 × 44.0 inches (863.6 × 1117.6 mm). Equal to 16 US Letter sheets, it is standard for full-scale commercial aerospace wing spars, naval ship general arrangements, and highway interchange profiles.

Arch D (Architectural D) is the dominant commercial architectural drawing paper format in the United States, measuring exactly 24.0 × 36.0 inches (609.6 × 914.4 mm). Operating on a clean 2:3 aspect ratio, it is the mandated standard for US building permit architectural blueprints, construction site floor plans, and residential elevations.

US Executive (also known as Monarch) is a traditional North American stationery paper size measuring 7.25 × 10.5 inches (184.2 × 266.7 mm). Slightly more compact than US Letter, it is standard for formal corporate executive stationery, personalized social letterheads, and luxury correspondence pads.

US Letter (ANSI A) is the standard business and consumer paper size in the United States, Canada, and parts of Mexico, measuring exactly 8.5 × 11.0 inches (215.9 × 279.4 mm). Standardized under ANSI/ASME Y14.1, it is slightly wider and shorter than the international ISO 216 A4 format.

US Tabloid / Ledger (ANSI B) is an ANSI/ASME Y14.1 standard paper size measuring 11.0 × 17.0 inches (279.4 × 431.8 mm). Formed by placing two US Letter sheets side-by-side, it is referred to as 'Tabloid' in portrait orientation (used for newspapers and newsletters) and 'Ledger' in landscape orientation (used for accounting spreadsheets and engineering schematics).
