B-Series (ISO 216)

B0 is the largest standard size in the ISO 216 B-series, measuring exactly 1000 × 1414 mm (39.37 × 55.67 inches) with a surface area of √2 square meters (~1.414 m²). Defined with an exact 1-meter short edge, it is the international standard for giant subway transit advertisements, commercial billboards, and wall cartography.

B1 is an ISO 216 standard paper size measuring 707 × 1000 mm (27.83 × 39.37 inches) with a surface area of ~0.707 square meters. Defined with an exact 1-meter long edge, it is the worldwide standard format for theatrical movie posters, museum exhibition graphics, and commercial lithographic press sheets.

B2 is an ISO 216 standard paper size measuring 500 × 707 mm (19.69 × 27.83 inches) with a surface area of ~0.354 square meters. Operating with an exact 500 mm (0.5 meter) short edge, it is the benchmark format for commercial half-size offset printing presses, concert tour posters, and art museum prints.

Created by cutting a B5 sheet in half, it is standard for mass-market paperback novels, Japanese manga tankōbon volumes, and multi-language consumer product warranty booklets.

B7 is an ISO 216 standard paper size measuring 88 × 125 mm (3.46 × 4.92 inches). Standardized under ICAO Doc 9303 as the official ID-3 machine-readable travel document format, it is the universal size for all national passport booklets issued worldwide.
