Understanding the Point (pt) Thickness Scale

Collectible card thickness is measured in 'points', where 1 point equals 1/1000th of an inch (1 mil / 0.0254 mm):

35pt: Standard base cards (Magic, Pokémon, modern baseball/football base sets).
55pt to 75pt: Thicker cardstocks (Topps Chrome, Panini Prizm, standard refractors).
100pt to 130pt: Game-used jersey swatches and dual-layer relic cards.
180pt to 360pt: Triple-thick patches, autographed logo patches, game bat barrels, and sneaker sole relics.

Toploaders vs. Magnetic One-Touch Cases

Rigid Toploader: Flexible semi-rigid PVC sleeve. Cards must be placed into a soft 'penny sleeve' first before inserting into a toploader to prevent surface scratching.
Magnetic One-Touch: Two-piece rigid acrylic shell with UV-blocking additives held together by a top neodymium magnet. Contains built-in diamond corner recesses to prevent card corner damage. Cards are placed inside directly without an outer sleeve.
