Blank Tile Rules & Myths
- Permanent Assignment: When a player plays a Blank tile, they MUST announce which letter it represents. That blank tile remains that letter for the remainder of the game.
- Substitution Myth: In official tournament rules, players CANNOT swap an actual letter from their rack for a blank tile already on the board. (That is a common house rule from Rummikub).
Challenges & The 50-Point Bingo Bonus
- Bingo Bonus: If a player plays all 7 tiles from their rack in a single turn, they score all normal letter and word multipliers PLUS a flat 50-point bonus.
- Challenging Words: If an opponent challenges a word and it is NOT in the official dictionary (e.g., CSW or NASPA list), the player must remove their tiles and loses their entire turn. If the word is legal, the challenger loses their turn (in standard rules) or suffers a 5-point penalty.
