Direct Answer

An LR41 battery (also sold as AG3 or 392) is a 1.5V Alkaline button cell measuring approximately 7.9mm in diameter and 3.6mm in thickness. It's a common size for small thermometers, compact watches, and other low-drain miniature electronics.

Alkaline vs. the Silver Oxide SR41

The LR41 shares its 7.9mm x 3.6mm footprint with the silver-oxide SR41 (also sold as SR736), but the two chemistries behave differently as they discharge: the alkaline LR41 has a gradually sloping voltage curve, while the silver-oxide SR41 holds a steadier voltage for most of its life at a higher cost. For devices like digital thermometers that mainly care about total runtime rather than a perfectly stable voltage, the cheaper alkaline LR41 is usually the more practical choice.
