The PGJ19 Keying Tab System
The H8, H9, and H11 bulb family share the same general 90° body, but have different metal locking tab widths and internal plastic keyways. This intentional mechanical keying prevents an installer from accidentally putting a high-heat 65W H9 bulb (2,100 lumens) into a delicate plastic fog light housing rated only for a 35W H8 bulb, which would melt the plastic reflector lens.
